SINGH REVELATION HAS PHONE LINES IN MELTDOWN!
The Webbo land line phone has been “red hot” since the story on Parminder Singh was shown on this website last Thursday, with so many newsagents “baffled” that the NFRN head office officials have been silenced of this individuals activities who is expected to be leader of this organisation at the next Annual Conference in June.
Calls from high officials within the organisation, even National Council delegates, and numerous branch officials asking the relevant questions of why this man has been allowed to stand for the position of National President.
Why didn’t the Wholesaler take the matter further and charge the man with serious offence so many newsagents asked, simple answer had it not been for a highly senior official saving his neck he certainly would have been in the courts, but such was the official determination to save the federations blushes the matter was swept under the carpet with the condition Singh was warned of his future conduct.
With the nominations for Annual Conference now closed this news will certainly put egg on many officials faces, the factor that Singh has four district Councils and 48 branches supporting his nomination as the next leader of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents will create an awful atmosphere amongst many, more importantly Publishers and Wholesalers will distant themselves from the federation entirely.
Why are you Webbo bringing this news to every ones attention now some newsagents asked,, simple answer, I believe every NFRN member has the right to know who they are voting for, I believe the position of the leader of the organisation has to be a professional honourable person within the industry, a person who shows leadership qualities, a person with credibility, and the expert knowledge needed to be a NFRN leader. Singh lacks all these essential qualities.
Yes, maybe the NFRN system is way behind times in today’s ethics of business management, but this position of leader is not for people to make their CV’s look pretty, this position is most important to everyone in the trade; it needs a professional person representing the independent newsagent members at the highest level within the news trade. This is not a job for a corner shop owner, or a glorified paper boy, the sooner someone recognizes this the better, but until then the likes of Singh will appear until the organisation falls by the wayside.
Singh started throwing his weight about even before he reached the status of deputy Vice President ( and that voting procedure was flawed by this man with others) on one particular occasion he walked into the office of a well known official informing him of the changes he will make when he becomes leader. Singh said to the person,”I hope you have taken note what I have just said,” Certainly have said the shocked official, I taped every word!!
Some current staff members at Yeoman House are already making alternative plans should the inevitable happen that Singh takes over the office chamber, only last week some made enquiries to alleviate the problems that they are convinced will undoubtedly appear.
What’s really disappointing is some senior members know this news about Singh and they still let their districts and indeed Councils back this man as their leader, Where’s the morals, where’s their commitment to the paying member, or do they like so many others walk away knowing the days of the federation are some what numbered, and don’t really care?
